Quiche Recipe

Having breakfast for dinner is the best, especially if it is homemade quiche. If you are unsure of making quiche, or you think they are hard, then this post will teach you how easy making quiche can be. To start, you need a pie crust as the base. In this post, I will share the easiest Quiche recipe and a recipe for the Perfect Pie Crust.

The Perfect Pie Crust

The base of any good quiche is a pie crust. There are many ways to use pie crust. For example, I use pie crust with Chicken pot pie, quiche, pop-tarts, pies and more. Click the link below for the recipe for pie crust I always use.

Quiche Recipe

Ingredients

1 unbaked pie crust
6 eggs
1 cup heavy cream
4 oz shredded cheddar cheese
Salt and pepper to taste
(Double for making 2 quiche)

Directions for Quiche

1. Firstly, place pie crust into a pie dish and crimp the edges.
Making a pie crust is so easy, check out this link to one of my blogs on how to make your own pie crust.

2. Whisk 6 eggs and heavy cream together until fully blended.
If you want a lower fat option, opt for Greek yogurt instead of heavy cream. Then season the eggs with salt and pepper.

3. Shred 4-ounces of cheddar cheese and then add the cheese to the pie crust.
Freshly shredded cheese is best because it will mix well with the eggs and does not have any anti-caking powder like a pre-shredded cheese will have.

4. Pour the egg mixture over the top of the cheese in the pie crust, then gently stir in the cheese.

5. Place the quiche in a preheated 400-degree oven and if you have a pie crust cover, place it and cook for 10 minutes. Levi was my cameraman so I could get these quiches into the oven. He is turning into a great helper taking pictures.

6. Take off the pie crust cover and finish cooking for 25-30 more minutes until a knife comes out clean. Pie crust shields are great to keep the crusts of your pie from burning. Below is a picture Levi had taken of himself while I was placing the quiches into the oven, this kid is just the cutest!

Make sure you check the link for prices as they often change! Since 2015, I have used these personally on a weekly basis.

7. Remove the quiche from the oven and then let rest for 3-5 minutes before serving. Serve with your favorite toppings! For example, we eat quiche with salsa, Greek yogurt, hot sauce, avocados, tomatoes and extra shredded cheese. We then plate up these toppings and have them on the table, so we have a variety of choices.

OOOWWWWWW So… I seriously just had a failure. My first time ever using my pie crust shields, it flipped over itself and onto my arm! Youchies folks… That hurts! Anyone have helpful tips on how NOT to do this ever again? Hahaha

I have not always had the skills to cook and bake from scratch. As a young wife, I bought every meal frozen or boxed and presented it to my husband with a flourish, believing myself a decadent cook. As our budget shrunk, and our family grew, I looked for ways to stretch our money to nourish our kids with the best for their hungry appetites. Hoping to find recipes and meals that they would love to eat. Through the last 5 years, I have learned so many cooking and baking lessons, and experienced many wins and failures. Come along with me on this journey as I share my recipes that work, how to make them on the cheap, and my tips and tricks to get my kids to eat homemade deliciousness! I will also share updates to our house that we have done in the last year since our move. With one income, we do most of the work ourselves and with amazing family and friends to help out, cutting costs but keeping style and money in the bank! I am a wife and mother of 3 boys and 1 princess. When I was a kid, I remember being asked what I wanted to be or do when I grew up. My response was, "a mom", and I am proud to grow up and be a mom to 4 amazing kids! Samuel is 11, Matthew is 8, Levi is 4, and Elliana is almost 2. We have been blessed to have kids who love to explore foods, to try new recipes, and enjoy helping us around the house. With 4 kids, you better believe they help clean! My husband Tyler and I have been married almost 13 years. We love our kids, we love outdoors, camping, canoeing, grilling, watching movies, and just hanging out making memories. A few years ago I gifted Tyler with his own "menu" book, where we write meals and foods we have loved to eat. Weekly our family decides what our meals will be and I make up a grocery list with what we need. It literally is my favorite chore! I love to shop, so shopping for food on a budget is my biggest win! Thank you for taking the time and visiting my site, Subscribe so you do not miss a post! Keep coming back to hear about new recipes, updates on our home, fun times with our kids, and how to make homemade deliciousness! ~Monica
