The BEST Pumpkin Streusel Bread

Advertisements

I could eat pumpkin anything. Pumpkin bagel, coffee creamer, doughnuts, scones, muffins, pancakes…. Somedays I wish for that quintessential crisp fall day, with the leaves in shades of brilliant oranges and reds. Out of all the seasons, I love Fall the most. Most of all making snacks out of pumpkin flavored anything is so comforting and reminiscent of the fall. This Pumpkin Streusel bread is so moist with a crispy sweet top. It is so difficult to keep both loaves uneaten for over 24 hours. Honest! By the end of the day, our kids ate an entire loaf, and Tyler had barely enough for a morning snack before work.

We love delicious fall treats in our house. Pumpkin pancakes, apple cider, and this Pumpkin Streusel bread is the most delicious bread. For example, you can have it for an afternoon snack, for breakfast or with dinner as dessert. Additionally, you can load up this bread with chocolate chips for a chocolate chip Pumpkin Sreusel bread.

Directions

1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
2. Spray two 4 X 8 loaf pans with a non-stick spray and then set aside.
3. In a Pyrex bowl mix together flour, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg, and cloves, then set aside.

4. In the bowl of a KitchenAid mixer, combine oil and applesauce, then combine on low.

5. Add eggs one at a time and then blend well.

6. Add sugar and brown sugar to the mixing bowl and then mix on low to combine.

7. Next, open the can of pumpkin and use a spatula to scoop the contents of the can into the bowl of the KitchenAid mixer, then mix on low to combine.

8. Add water to the mixture and then combine on low.

9. Pour in half of the flour mixture and then blend until just combined.

10. Add the remaining flour mixture and then mix well on low, scraping the sides down with a spatula if needed.

11. Divide the batter into the two prepared loaf pans evenly.

Topping Directions

1. In a Pyrex microwave save bowl melt 1/4 cup butter.

2. Add in sugar, flour, and cinnamon and then mix well with a fork.

3. When crumbly, evenly distribute over batter in loaf pans, however you may need to use your hands to do this.

Bake the pumpkin streusel breads for 25 minutes, then rotate the pans and bake an additional 20-25 minutes or until a knife inserted in the center is clean.

Finally remove the Pumpkin Streusel breads from the oven and let rest to cool, around 30 minutes.

Our family loves to eat this bread still warm from the oven. It is fantastic with butter spread on each piece. Pumpkin streusel bread is great for breakfast, a snack, dessert, and even to eat at 9:30 at night when all of the littles are asleep.

Enjoy!

I have not always had the skills to cook and bake from scratch. As a young wife, I bought every meal frozen or boxed and presented it to my husband with a flourish, believing myself a decadent cook. As our budget shrunk, and our family grew, I looked for ways to stretch our money to nourish our kids with the best for their hungry appetites. Hoping to find recipes and meals that they would love to eat. Through the last 5 years, I have learned so many cooking and baking lessons, and experienced many wins and failures. Come along with me on this journey as I share my recipes that work, how to make them on the cheap, and my tips and tricks to get my kids to eat homemade deliciousness! I will also share updates to our house that we have done in the last year since our move. With one income, we do most of the work ourselves and with amazing family and friends to help out, cutting costs but keeping style and money in the bank! I am a wife and mother of 3 boys and 1 princess. When I was a kid, I remember being asked what I wanted to be or do when I grew up. My response was, "a mom", and I am proud to grow up and be a mom to 4 amazing kids! Samuel is 11, Matthew is 8, Levi is 4, and Elliana is almost 2. We have been blessed to have kids who love to explore foods, to try new recipes, and enjoy helping us around the house. With 4 kids, you better believe they help clean! My husband Tyler and I have been married almost 13 years. We love our kids, we love outdoors, camping, canoeing, grilling, watching movies, and just hanging out making memories. A few years ago I gifted Tyler with his own "menu" book, where we write meals and foods we have loved to eat. Weekly our family decides what our meals will be and I make up a grocery list with what we need. It literally is my favorite chore! I love to shop, so shopping for food on a budget is my biggest win! Thank you for taking the time and visiting my site, Subscribe so you do not miss a post! Keep coming back to hear about new recipes, updates on our home, fun times with our kids, and how to make homemade deliciousness! ~Monica
